About SH&H Valuation & Consulting
SH&H Valuation and Consulting, established by team members of Strickland, Heischman & Hoss, is an appraisal firm that offers a broad range of valuation and consulting services. The original firm was founded by Fred Strickland, Jim Hoss, and Don Heischman in 1989. At the end of 2015, three long-time associates, Chad Johnson, MAI, Matt Minarck, MAI, and Barbro Hines, MAI, SRA, assumed operations under the SH&H Valuation and Consulting banner. These three partners have a combined 50+ years of appraisal experience and have completed appraisal and consulting services on a wide range of property types.
The diverse backgrounds and experience of the appraisers at SH&H Valuation and Consulting, and the skilled support staff, allows the firm to offer appraisal and consulting expertise throughout the State of Washington.

Chad Johnson is a Certified General Appraiser in the State of Washington, having obtained this credential in March 2005. Chad earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate from Washington State University in May 2001 and began his appraisal career after joining Strickland, Heischman & Hoss in June 2001. Under the guidance of a skilled leadership team, and drawing on his construction industry background, Chad gained expertise in the analysis of a broad array of real property types including industrial, retail, office and special use facilities, as well as resource properties such as forestry and gravel extraction sites. Chad is on the Washington State Department of Transportations approved appraiser list and has experience appraising a variety of property types for eminent domain purposes.

Matt Minarck has been appraising since 1999 when he arrived at Strickland, Heischman & Hoss and he received his General Appraiser Certification in 2003. Matt brings to SH&H Valuation and Consulting a broad range of appraisal experience including light to heavy industrial facilities, small and large retail centers and shopping malls, office properties and medical facilities, and various special use properties such as marinas, gas stations and golf courses. Matt is also on the Washington State Department of Transportation approved appraiser list and has completed numerous appraisals for eminent domain purposes.

Barbro Hines has worked in the appraisal field since 1986. Barbro began her career appraising in Chicago when she joined the family residential appraisal business. For ten years Barbro completed appraisals on detached single family residences and small apartment complexes. After moving to Washington, Barbro joined Strickland, Heischman & Hoss, broadening her appraisal experience to include a wide array of commercial, special use, and multi-family properties. Barbro is on the Washington State Department of Transportation approved appraiser list and has extensive experience in the completion of appraisals for eminent domain.
